For almost 140 years Stark’s Mill has anchored this bend in the Teeswater River, contributing to the local economy and becoming part of our built heritage. As we become its next stewards, how can we continue the mill’s working history?
Along with continuing Nature’s Millworks tradition of hosting arts-related events and providing space for small group retreats, we envision creating up to fourteen suites for short and longer-term accommodations to meet the local demand in the Paisley area. The mill’s historic timber framing is inspiring, so interior designs will feature its unique character-defining attributes. We are working through the various processes with Bruce County, Brockton, and Arran-Elderslie, along with Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority towards a start date in 2021…stay tuned for updates!
It’s reported that in day of yore, folks would spend a Sunday afternoon leisurely rowing on the millpond or walking the riverbank. We’d love to revive this opportunity, and hope to clear some hiking and cross-country ski trails around the 30 acre property.
